Derby October 3rd 2015 - World Games Impetus

Good to hear from you Dax. Armies always available for you to use if the yearning to play becomes too strong.

The fancy dress theme was meant as a bit of April 1st fun but the more I think about it maybe a good idea after all...

I am chasing up with Derby as has gone a bit quiet from. I will be chasing up armies etc soon once I have mine submitted first.

Please get your name down in if you are going to enter as I will be closing the books soon.

England v Australia rugby doesn't kick off till 8pm so we will be away in time to watch them play-off for 2nd spot in the group and see which one goes home. I usually stay the weekend for Derby to shop on the Sunday and will arrange somewhere to watch the rugby Saturday evening if people fancy it.

Easy solution - sell your ticket! You will get enough to pay for your whole Derby trip. A day of Impetus will be a lot less stressful that watching England go out in the group stage.

Hi Ross - did you make a final decision on this is it going to be 300 or 350 points for the competition?

Perhaps one day, if I ever make it to England.

350 please - the games are much better quality, more interesting and less open to abusive lists

300pts is easier for coming with a plane, 350 is not impossible but I have to make a try, in case I will ask for some bases.

Hi just wondering again if the final format for this competition is agreed upon - I have not sent in an entry to the organizers yet.

Ross wonder if it is easier now just to start a fresh thread with your full details for the competition - similar format / style to the Australian contest post. We would then all know clearly what is happening.

Also has anyone else sent in their entry yet? I can see that the SAGA contest is already fully booked and they are running a reserve list so wonder if we need a push to get our bookings in or we might lose the tables?

As Jez says we need to start getting our entries in to Richard Waring who is the event organiser-

All fees etc go directly to him and we need to get our entries confirmed to avoid losing tables. Most are now in so please compete yours if you have not already done so.
We seem to have an even split on going with 300 points or 350 so I will run a poll for about a week and take it from there.

Hi Ross - just an idea but as a new style competitors could post the army list on the forum here ? Might be easier as everyone can then check the lists and also thought might create a bit of interest on the forum in general?

We are using the new Advanced Impetus just published?

Glad a couple of people like the idea !! I just thought it also cuts down on the work for the organiser as well - as remember checking through the lists is always a faff.

If we end up with a deadline to post it can be like an ebay auction and we all post at the last minute.

To be honest no secret for me as I will probably bring the same army as last year Swiss - there is an extra unit I want to finish painting and including in the list gives me the push to finish.

Well my initial plan was to take my new, shiny, just painted Scythians but due to pressures of work that is now looking like they may be my 20+ year old Scythians or something else - possibly Hussites, or even Persians, neither of which bodes well against Swiss but on the other hand if you start down that mental route trying to second guess everyone and build an army that can beat it, that way lies madness
