SELWG 2023 Thapsus 46BC

We will putting on the above game at SELG 2023 on Sunday 15th October. Forum members welcome to join in.

We had good day and managed to have the battle fought twice, our group played the 1st and a group from South London Warlords played the 2nd we just ref'd it.
The battle was fought on a confined space between a salt marsh and the Mediterranean with no possibility of either army being outflanked. Ceasar'sbeing 616 points and the Pompeians commanded by Scipio 564 points. Ceasar was classed as a 'Genius general and although his army had more points it had 2 less legionary units but better quality than the Pompeians.
The 1st game started well for Ceasar but failed to capitalise on early successes with the Pompeians turning it around and gaining the narrowest of victories after a hard fought battle.
The 2nd game saw Ceasar gaining his revenge by defeating the pompeans.
