Noob question on force selection
Hi All
Rules book on way but a chum has shown me list for EAP
As I read it if I go for Immortals, Sparabara or Assyrians I have to
1. Pay for front unit of troops
2. Then pay for the second unit of missile troops
3. Stick em together as a big unit
I don't get choice to just have the front foot troops or buy both units and have one of foot and one of bow acting independently.
Think I am right but just checking.
Several of us got a pack of 6mm troops to start a force each

Re: Noob question on force selection
Hi Baldie. Welcome to the forum.
Yes these all have to be fielded as large units you can't split them up. You may notice you pay a little less in points for the rear rank for this 'inconvenience' ....there is a silver lining

Re: Noob question on force selection
Once you get to know the rules Baldie you will appreciate that large units are a real plus in Impetus. This Early Persian infantry is much tougher being large units.
As an aside the Immortals and Sparabara were essentially deep units of archers with a single rank of spear at the front.

Re: Noob question on force selection
Yep Gaius is right. I play EAP's often and the large units of T's certainly give this army some needed 'back bone'. Quite a good fight when up agains't an historical opponent like Hoplites.
