Massed units
Do I need to purchase 2 tercio units to forma massed unit? Obviously for Reiters I do but a Tercio I'm not sure

No not for either. Assuming you mean purchased in points. If you purchased in terms of figures then yeah, you may need some extras
Massed units are not Impetus style Large Units - they are not multiple base units, they are just another type of single base unit, that usually happen to be double the depth.
TE count as massed but are the base size they are (120mm square in 15mm)
RE are a single base of 120mm x 40mm. Massed RE are a single base of 120mm x 80mm. You can of course push 2 RE bases together to make a REM but it won't look as good as a proper REM base.
