VD - Fractional Values

Hi guys,

I am new to Impetvs and to be honest I was not able to solve a conundrum that the lists have caused in my mind. The VD stat signifies basically a unit's value for the opponent, this is clear.

My question is, units with fractional values, such as 1/3 and 2/3, are they really worth 0.33 and 0.66 points ? Because I find it somewhat awkward that a unit of FP with VBU 5 is worth 0.66, while skirmishers are worth 1. So my gut feeling is telling me I'm reading "2/3" wrong and it should probably be something like 2.5 instead of 0.66. But then what is 1/3 ?

Please explain to me how exactly I should read a 1/3 or 2/3 VD value and what the ranking of VD values is.

Yes, as you suspect Dan you have been misreading the VD for the units in question. The 1/3 and 2/3 designate units with or without attached leaders. They are not fractions. Now in Impetus 1 leaders had to be attached to a unit. In those cases the VD of the unit is 3. When the unit does not have an attached general use the first number. Impetus 2 this is no longer the case since generals are no longer obliged to attach to a specific unit.

Going forward, at least until the Impetus 2 lists come out, ignore the second number and use only the first.
