Caracoling Reiters
Played our first game yesterday, and our first impressions are that this is an excellent rule set. Most questions we were able to resolve easily, but we have one or two remaining.
For massed RE performing caracole at what point is the DT rolled? There would appear to be a number of possibilities. We played (I think) the following sequence;
RE approach target to point blank range.
Possible enemy reaction to move.
RE fire, possible enemy reaction to fire.
If not disordered, RE roll DT, if passed, fire second time, possible enemy reaction to fire.
RE may move if DT had been passed.
Is this correct? We understand that a unit can only react once, so enemy reactions would be from multiple opponents.

Possible enemy reaction to move. (correct)
RE fire, possible enemy reaction to fire. (If not already reacted or attempted to)
If not disordered, RE roll DT, if passed, fire second time, possible enemy reaction to fire.(if still not reacted)
RE may move if DT had been passed. ( not sure)

Re: Caracoling Reiters
As I understand RE can move a second time if not disordered, DT is at the end of movement and if failed then they become disordered.
RE may move if DT had been passed. ( not sure)

Re: Caracoling Reiters
In this case the DT is to fire and if not passed I think the RE can still complete their first move - they can't begin a second movement though.
Re: Caracoling Reiters
From 6.8
To fire a second time the RE must pass a DT, if its fails then its activation ends.
Its doesn't state that the RE becomes Disordered if they fail the DT to shoot twice.
The actual wording suggests that you conduct the DT before the first fire, failure would mean no fire at all. I think that this maybe more a translation error than the intent.

Re: Caracoling Reiters
Also note that the discipline test to fire a 2nd time is not movement so not affected by their slow characteristic if massed.
