28mm Tournament Sheffield Triples 19th March

A little late in the day, but I'm provisionally organising a tournament for Sheffield Triples  to be held on Saturday 19th March - venue details here

I'm still awaiting confirmation on availability and space but in the past Sheffield have been most accommodating.

Format will be the usual 400pts 2+ commands and army lists posted here for scrutiny a week before the event.

Registration 9.15-9.30

Lunch 11.30-12.30

3rd game 14.30-16.30

Entry fee is £6 on the door

Hi everyone - is that Stephen Davison of Norman army fame making a return to the Impetus comps after a year or so?

Great if so - I remember we always seem to get drawn to play each other in comps?

Have you still got your Norman or EI Romans?

Any early hints on what people are thinking of fielding. My most recent painted army is Teutonic Knights but just bought figures to exactly get to 350 points so feels a bit unbalanced if I stretch it to 400 points. Played last Derby competition with Swiss so might blow the dust off Late Romans?

I had a discussion with someone who might have confused my lil brain.

Now this might be more pertinent in the Rules question heading but as required for this Competition I'd appreciation.

A Charismatic General has the advantage of adding 1 to the discipline test of units UNDER HIS COMMAND but only for Rallying.

I have always believed that as he is the C in C, all his own army but not Allied Contingents are under his command.

The alternative suggestion is that only troops under his DIRECT control, that is in the command directly he controls, benefit from this advantage?

As there is the option of 'detached' C in C (not that anyone uses it of course!) it would suggest that my view is right?

Only Allied contingents, who count their own general as C in C do not benefit.

I think Steve has it correct - just the troops under direct command. Remember the "detatched" CinC can't be Charismatic

A 12th player would be nice, it would be good to get a game

If space still available, I'm in. Still painting the extra figures needed, paint might be a bit wet...

OK Gents time to start thinking about submitting army lists. As before I'm just asking for them to be posted up here for peer checking rather than going to the organiser (err me). Can we get them up on here by the end of Saturday? No prize for first post other than a warm feeling inside :-)

I'll go first! This is an adaption to the army i first used up in Scotland when the world was 300 points. It then got sold and another version painted up when we went to 350 points. This is the new 400 point version. I have no doubt that it will perform as badly as the previous ones ;-)

Funnily enough he doesnt - or at least when he lived here he didnt. We sometimes used to paint cavalry half and half - I did the horses he did the riders

Not in this army, but there have been plenty - Timurid, Mongol, etc..
