Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
Added to the 28 mm collection Late Roman West. Currently painting Palmyrans in 28 mm despite my thoughts of not painting another army.

In 28mm:
Romano-British
Picts
Early Imperial Romans
armies in progress:
Yorkist WotR
Mongols
Numidians
For BI2 should also soon be able to field Early Saxons
For 15mm nothing specifically rebased yet but could probably must
WotR, Picts, Anglo-Danes, Early British, Samurai.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
At our club we do ancients in 15mm and I've been fighting under DBx rules since they first appeared.
As I have a nice pile of sabot bases, I can use my 15mm DBM armies for Impetus so I've got an awful lot.
However painted and based purely for Impetus I've got Sassanid, Kushite, Blemmye,

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
Ive just, about, finished 15mm Ptolemy and Seleucid armies for the Battle of Raphia just over 1000 infantry.
Also have Carthaginian, Numidian, Spanish, Gaul and their opponents Roman in 15mm but I want to rebase them...along with Late Achamenid Persian and Greeks.
Early Crusaders, awaiting basing and Ayyub Arab on the painting table...

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
Far too many
72 boxes and counting - the FIB Hellenistic kickstarter is still in progress (and unphotographed) that's 18 bases of phalanx with another 12 to go plus 30 odd elephants and sundry other stuff and the next FIB kickstarter will be landing all too soon - moving house is really slowing up the painting schedule.
hard to actually count armies, I have stuff boxed by troop type: https://www.flickr.com/photos/zippee/collections/72157681592395440/
But I definitely have:
Hellenistic/Successor [mainly Seleukid], Lombards, Normans, Visigoths, Franks, Sassanians, Arabs (Conquest through Crusades), assorted steppe ghulams and horse archers, Classic Greeks (mainly Syracusan), Gauls, Galatians, Pre-islamic Arabs, Commagene, Kappadokian, Late Imperial Roman, Wars of the Roses (Yorkist obviously!), Byzantine, Thracian and a generous smattering of other generic stuff that blends into the morphability.
There's also an Assyrian army awaiting completion but stalled as I'm still hoping for a better evaluation of how the infantry are defined in Impetus II.
Not to mention all the fantasy cross over stuff - my Gondorians frequently bolster my Norman/Crusader forces for instance. Or the odd stuff in 6mm and 10mm.

Agreed. As an aside, I would love to see each whole army in one picture. I didn't notice any although I may have missed them.
The pictures remind me of how much I like all scales of figures. Each has their charm. I think my days of painting 15mm are over however (and 6mm ended at least a decade ago.)

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
thanks both,
That's unlikely to happen GC - or at least not for some time as everything is packed up as the house is in 'viewing' mode but fingers crossed we move in July. Even then it might take a while to get the photo studio set up.
And the problem with an 'army' picture is that some stuff translates across multiple armies and the picture has to be taken from far away so it's little more than an amorphous mass. And I have a unit backlog to photo first - the main purpose being as a visual catalogue.
All scales have their place - if I didn't have the investment in 15mm from WRG days they'd definitely be 10mm. My baroque stuff is 10mm and I'm duplicating my 6mm Napoleonics in 10mm as well. 28mm is strictly for RPGs and skirmish games - although I do have a scary large amount of LotR stuff my wife bought before the arthritis kicked in and stopped her painting, that I am duty bound to finish - 3 balrogs and 5 mumakil being the tip of that iceberg!. But I still have heaps of 6mm - WWII and Nap, Just finished up a 1939 Polish IABSM force, so the old eyes and hands can still do that
