6mm [Basic] Impetus armies in making
Here's Seleucids in 6mm. Figures are from Baccus. More of the building progress of the armies can be found at the Blog.

Really nice.
I am always impressed by people who can paint figures this small to a good standard.

Really stunning. amazing how detailed these are. Your basing style is very good for 6mm!

Thanks for your kind comments! Painting 6mm is rewarding in some weird way. Figures below from Baccus.

There are some hoplites for 6mm. So far four bases and 144 figures done and still wondering if I should build entire hoplite army or two (sparta would be nice of course...):
Just for sake of size comparison, 6mm is a fairly small scale, a dime vs. French Daragoons:
And quarter vs. Hoplites:

Yeah great .....I've often thought about 6mm but would have to do both sides. Really nice.

Thanks for your kind comments.
I thought that also before starting to paint them, but figured out that it would not be a big issue after all because the number of units needed is somewhat limited, and even with my lazy painting speed it did not take too long to make two functional armies.
At least in the period of my choosing (Republican Romans & Mediterranean) significant portion of troops were fighting in multiple sides. Here's some bits of the Iberian contingent. Pretty good sculpts from Baccus:

Wow they're very nice also...I think an irregular warband type army would be particularly fun to do in 6mm.

And then some 6mm Samnites or maybe even substitutes for Oscans to side Carthage for the ever expanding conflict:

It looks good and I can see the advantage in getting armies finished quicker and looking like armies although I would miss the detail you get in 28mm. Either way fine painting on such little guys.

Re: 6mm [Basic] Impetus armies in making
Thanks for your comments. What comes to the larger scales versus small ones, yes, I also really like the visuals of 28mm figures, if painted well they are absolutely brilliant. However, I barely have sufficient space for 6mm not to even think about 28...
Now it is time for some Indian Elephants as a prelude to the whole army that is to be fielded in sometime.

really nice, feeling the urge to commit to getting some as they do give the visual look of mass combat when placed on a table.
