What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
What Impetus armies do you own, and in what scale?
- - -
Currently I am relatively new to Impetus, and only have a Late Achaemenid Persian Army in 28mm. To be honest, it's still in development. In the past I've played games with a friend's miniatures.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
I don't have specific armies just a morphable mass roughly divided up into period/era blocks.
Far too many to list - 36 4lt Really Useful boxes of 15mm Ancients (we won't consider the 6mm or 10mm oddities)
Each box takes 12 CP, CM or CL or 28 FP or 20 FL or T or 40 S or 6 Baggage or Warwagons
There's an entire Neo Assyrian Army waiting refurbishment/upgrade and rebasing/expanding as well as significant fantasy style armies.
All in all about a mortgage and 40 years I'd say

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
All my armies are 28mm
I do have:
Ptolemaic Successors (still ovp)
Sarmations (still WIP)
1st Crusade/ Kingdom of Jerusalem pre Hattin (a conglomerat of Figures that allows me to field both)
Komnenian Byzantines (still ovp except the Latinikon which is built by figures from above)
HYW French (WIP)
WoTR Yorkist (Edward at Tewkesbury to be specific...)
Takeda Clan ~1560 - 1570: Banzaiiii!!!
The WotR and HYW armies are around 300 points without commanders the other are about 500 - 700 points without commanders.
GNW Swedes for BtLB which I hope to be able to use with Baroque
GNW/ Marlburian Poles (still in buying mode aka don't have all the figures yet)
I also have a big lot of Myceneans but I think I'll wait for an Bronze Age supplement of Lords and Servants and divide them in several warbands.
I'm also tinkering around with 6mm Austrians for Grandeur... the best looking basing for them I found so far is on a double depth 15mm Base with 3 collumns of 4 strips on the back of the base and some 8 - 10 Jägers irregularily distributed on the front halve of the base.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
I'm still pretty new to this rule set, but I've been painting like crazy and have thus far finished Carthaginians, Republic Romans and Numidian (basic)armies in both 6mm & 28mm. I'm currently in the process of expanding some of these into full fat armies while painting Spanish and WoR's armies in 28mm at the same time.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
Provided you allow armies that are Sabot based because they were originally done for dbx I've got a heap in 15mm.
Without allowing Sabot bases I've got Sassanid, Meroic Kushite, and Blemmye/Beja

I also have New Kingdom Egyptian and Syrian States almost done. Early on I did the armies for large games (I have 1000 points of Romans and Selecuids) but I am now building to 600 points and in a few cases to 450.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
I'm a bit off the general scales of 28mm and 15mm and field my armies in 6mm instead. It started as some sort of space saving exercise. Later found out that on a positive side, small scale allows quite decent room for maneuvers and some of the larger battles can be quite visual.
Romans and Carthage, the bitter enemies are fielded at the moment (and with a bit of a twist, Sertorian) but sometime in not so distant future I ought to field Classical Indian (albeit I did severely miscalculate the manpower needs to make that army look like Indian army should), Alexander and Successor army or two in addition to some minors that can be composed from the existing Iberians, Gauls, Samnites, Greek hoplites, Romans etc.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
I am new to Impetus and have not played a game yet. No active ancient gamers I can find in my immediate region. I live in Pennsylvania, USA.
I am working on a 28mm Middle Imperial Roman army for Impetus. It will be an army of the period from Gallienus to Diocletian.
I also have a 28mm a Late Imperial Roman Army I am working on for playing Hail Caesar. I can probably be shifted over to Impetus easy enough. All the miniatures are on their own bases with magnets on bottom, so I can place on a metal movement tray of the size I want.
I have plastic 28mm Germanic troops I plan on painting up as Goths to fight either the Middle or Late Romans. Have not even broken open the box on those.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
What part of Pennsylvania do you live in Diocletian? Southern Ontario may be a bit of drive for you but if we had an Impetus weekend it might be worth it for you to come up.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
Gaius Cassius, I live in Erie, Pennsylvania. I am on the other side of Lake Erie from you. Southern Ontario is just over a three hour drive from here.
You are right, might be worth a drive if you had an Impetus weekend up there sometime. Thank you for mentioning it.
I will get some Ancients gaming in next month at Fall In in Lancaster, PA. No Impetus games going on at the convention, but some DBA events I plan on playing in. Bringing my 15mm Late Romans-East and 28mm Late Romans-West for some table top action in the DBA events.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
I only have a few armies for Impetus but all are in 6mm:
Painted armies:
Vikings (surprise!)
Wars of the Roses Yorkist
Scythian (actually Baccus Amazons but no one has complained yet)
Part- or unpainted:
Thessalian (part-painted)
Norman (unpainted)
I quite fancy collecting some more armies of various types but must first make progress on reducing my Unpainted Lead Pile.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
Making progress on completing my Late Achaemenid Persians. Besides 1 Takabara, 2 skimishing bows and one javs, I've almost completed 4 Greek Merc units, and working on 1 each of Light Cav Javs, Light Cav Bows, and Medium Cav. More to go, and looking to finish by mid May.

Re: What Impetus Armies Do You Own?
I just ordered the rules. Have a 15mm Carthaginian army on 40mm basing. We've been playing Armati again but just moved from Vegas to Erie PA.
Anyone playing in the region?
There are several more armies I am wanting to delve into : Ptolemaic, Seleucid, New Kingdom Egyptian, and Assyrian are a few on my radar.
