Few house rules
I'm playing Impetus since feew month. I've done 4 or 5 battles, in 15 mm scale, with Ottomans, wallachians ands St Jean's Knights.
At the beginning, we played with U=1 cm and standard rules. After a few games, we decide to change something in the rules, because it's a bit longer for real battle (I think):
- U = 1/2 inch. Units move quickly. Ranged attack a bit better.
- When rolling dice to hit, we are using this : a 6 or a single 5 is a hit. Just more bloody
I don't play in tournaments, just with friends, for enjoying ourselves. This modifiers are good for us, but I'd know what you, other players, think about it and if you have house rules too ?

Re: Few house rules
I'm not sure the changing from u= 1cm to u = half an inch is too much of a game changer.
Remember that in theory your bases ought to be bigger as well, which means that they'd take longer to wheel. So your troops will be easier to manoeuvre if they keep the old bases.
Hitting on 5's and 6's will give a slight edge to battered units. That unit down to 1 dice for some reason will now have a 1 in 3 chance of hitting rather than a 1 in 6. So it'll probably make skirmishers (who often seem to have only 1 dice shooting) stronger. It'll probably make finishing off battered units slightly more risky, so in the long run you might find that statistically your games become a little bluidier but less decisive in that victorious units are more mangled and less capable of doing anything.
But I don't see them as changes which will have a major effect on the game balance

Re: Few house rules
Why would you make changes like this after only 4 or 5 games? Seems a bit odd to me.
