OK, next question.

A unit of archers can fire at the start or end of their turn.

But what defines the end of their turn?

If they make multiple moves can they move until they disorder, pa the dice cost for teh multiple moves and shoot?

Or must the player call that they are shooting before rolling the discipline test for a given pulse?

i.e.

1) T Archers move once then fire. No problem as no discipline test involved.

2) T Archers move twice and fire. They pass discipline test after move 2 so no problem.

3) T Archers move twice and fail discipline test. Can they now fire and take the 2 dice penalty for 2 moves? Or must the player have called that they would be firing at the end of movement 2 regardless so they lose fire capability for this turn?

thanks

They take the DT for moving, pass or fail makes no difference to their ability to shoot (other than the -1 mod).

To be honest I can't see what problem you are seeing. The two things are not connected.

Only if you fire first must you declare the intent to move and take the mods accordingly (like reserving dice really), even then you are not compelled to move, you're merely allowing yourself the option.

The issue that came about was that when a unit moved and failed the discipline test the claim was made that ended their turn so they couldn't fire from their final position as their intent to fire had not been called.

Haven't heard that one before and I din't agree with it but as always I like to check.

Firing is done after taking any discipline tests for movement. So a unit moving twice would take a discipline test at the end of the second move. Whether it passes the test or not it is eligible to fire (although as Zippee mentions it does take an additional -1 on the firing dice if it is disordered through movement.) Two moves plus a disorder gives -3 to the dice so that is a substantial penalty to any firing unit.

You don't have to "call" the intent to shoot. You do have to "call" the intent to move after shooting because you need to take the negative modifier.

And failing a DT does not end your turn - it does prevent you attempting further movement or manoeuvre but the option to shoot remains available to you.
