First Goth Unit

Finally the first unit of Goths is ready after their stint in the vanishing queue waiting and giving the glass a week to go off before matting down. It takes time but it's worth it just to know that any speckling/frosting is as minimal as possible.

Unlike their Early Byzantine enemies it has taken a wee bit more time to get the unit finished due to the none uniform appearance. I really love painting up Bill's sculpts - they are a bit like Crusader miniatures in that there is plenty of surface area to play around with.

They're meant to be Ostrogoths. They are in fact a little early looking for what I have in mind (Narses at Taginae 552 CE) but they are the only decetn28mm Goths miniatures available so I have to go with it for now.

I do know that there's a company who will be producing a small range of Goths for the Early Byzantine "period" but I was told in confidence so can't reveal anything as of yet. Sorry.

As soon as they are released I will be "singing from the rafters" about them and will post up some pics as soon as I have some painted.
