Timing of continued Melee
A melee that is drawn continues when either of the relevant commands are activated again, but at what point in the turn does that continuation occur? Would the active player be able to bring up extra troops and feed them into the melee or would the melee occur as soon as that command is activated?

Re: Timing of continued Melee
The melee occurs at the point when the commander wishes to activate the unit that is in the melee. So its your choice when the melee occurs. So, yes it would be possible to bring up extra troops and feed them into the melee before activating the unit already in melee.

Thanks, could he choose not to activate it and therefore not fight the melee?

I'm not sure anything has changed on this issue since Impetus 1
Or at least now the rules agree with how we used to play it

The 'extra troops' could come from a third command also eg units from a completely different command than the two already engaged.
Thought I'd bring that up just to be clear.
