Shooting through impassible terrain.
I just want to clarify can you shoot through impassible terrain if that terrain is a pond or suchlike. I do not believe you can as there is no visibility in impassible terrain but there are a couple at the club who do think it is possible if a pond or marsh.

Re: Shooting through impassible terrain.
Hi Geoff
Personally I would play that you can shoot through if it is a marsh / pond type impassable terrain feature.
Just my opinion though ..........
Cheers Jez

I've with Jez on this, shooting over a terrain piece that doesn't block vision seems reasonable

Re: Shooting through impassible terrain.
I'd deploy the toffee hammer on anyone suggesting I couldn't shoot over a river because it was impassable.
Mind I'd ensure that any on table pond or river was wide enough to make it a non-issue, basically if it's over short range across it's unlikely to be an issue (except for artillery which is rare in our games)

Re: Shooting through impassible terrain.
Good point .... .my lake terrain piece is quite small so for 25 mm games I usually combine it with some marshy ground to make a larger impassable piece of terrain BUT definitely play can shoot across it.
Also I have a brilliant piece of mountain terrain that just fits within the 25 mm terrain size restrictions and looks impressive - no arguing its impossible to shoot through this. For some reason it always seems to be removed by the other player though so rarely make a show on the table top.

Re: Shooting through impassible terrain.
we usually specify before a game (when placing terrain) if you can fire through (impassable terrain is flat, eg a pond) or not.

Re: Shooting through impassible terrain.
I agree with Lorenzo. It should be specified and agreed on before start of play.
A lot of Australian rivers, just as an example, have high rushes on either bank, suitable for hiding behind and definitely acting as a barrier. Swamps are not dams, vegetation is throughout them.
Just agree beforehand.
