CM with Impetus 0
We were wondering if CM with impetus 0 (a very uncommon troop type) should get the same options to charge as CL with 0 impetus.

Re: CM with Impetus 0
The CM Knechte in the Early Teutonic list (EI5) is 5/0 Crossbow B. I have played against this list quite often lately and our group has wondered whether it should be allowed to charge other troops types as CL with 0 impetus. Again a very uncommon troop type.

In the DBMM Teutonic knights list the comment is made
"Knechte were crossbow-armed cavalry recruited from lower class German Crusaders on a 1 year contract; they acted as advance and flank guards, though their official role was to form up by the baggage and pray for success."
"In the Imperial German list it states "According to the manual (circa 1480) of Phillip von Seldeneck, mounted crossbows supported the right flank of the spitz. Once it had broken through, they were to peel off and attack the enemy general without reloading......Heavily armoured mounted handgunners called petronels supported the left flank of the pikemen. Light armoured lancers were placed behind the shooters to deter attack on them and also protected the flanks of the pikemen."
So it strikes me that Impetus has got these troops 'about right' at 5/0. They were troops who needed defending.
But the fact that they were also supposed to mug unaccompanied generals 'without reloading' seems to indicate they were expected to fight when the odds were against them.
I'd say yes, they can attack in the circumstances light horse with an impetus of zero can attack in
