Date for Impetus 2 and what changes?

Is there an approx. date for Impetus 2, please?

In broad terms (I realise you won't want to give full details of mechanics) what parts will change and what will be added/new? That is - is it just a tidy up to incorporate the existing updates/changes or will there be any new elements?

Will there be any expansion of the game set up section or a campaign system?

I am trying to get some buy in to the rules at my club but several folk have expressed reservations on the basis that they would rather look at a newer rule set with fresher ideas such as Sword & Spear so it would be helpful to know when the new book is likely to be launched and what may change.

Well, I'd like to release before the end of 2016, but I have so many things to release this year that I could not be precise. Most also will depend on how Baroque will be received as many innovations I want to add in Impetus 2 have been introduced in Baroque.

Basically, apart most of the amendments already available (all to tidy up), the most important innovation will be the reaction system. Opportunity will be used at the moment, still with several limitations.

In Baroque it works, but only after some heavy test I can tell if it works also for Impetus. The interactions among troop types is more complex in Impetus than in Baroque.

Impetuosity also will work in a different way.

I don't think I will include a generic Campaign System (some specific ideas can be take from supplements), thought I'm working on some ideas.
This would just slow down the develop of the battle rules, so better to keep it apart.

I'm aware people is waiting for Impetus 2 as well as for other sets. 2016 will be an year where I will complete the work of latests years. I'm a one man band and real life takes its part. Also my rules are on 2 languages at least that means 2 editions for book.

In less than one month I will release Baroque (both Italian and English versions) then it will be the turn of Basic Impetus 2.
Lords&Servants (new version) in printed version will follow and Extra Baroque 1 and Impetus 2 are the following projects.

Printed versions of rules are so much better for those of us whose only computer is a desktop

ah, another feature of Impetus 2, still taken from Baroque.
Generals will be "apart". You ca attach or detach a Leader, with pros and cons of course.

Separate generals would be a welcome feature. I encourage you to release a new version of impetus as soon as possible, even if it is just the original rules with all the errata included. I would pay for such a pdf right now as it is very cumbersome to play having to constantly refer to the updates and errata.
