Newbie Basing Question

If I understand Basic Impetus, when building my EIR units I put the "General" either on the base with the legion or the cavalry?

The figure of the Commander and his staff are included in the Unit to which they are attached, and so they are also removed if that Unit is removed from play."

Are there any other type of Command stands?

No, there is not a separate command figure in BI or in Impetus, but many gamers make them separate and use them as simple markers to show where the General is. It is an option. Otherwise put a general and his staff inside the base.

Why aren't the general's listed on the Roman list for BI? How do I know what their value is?

In BI generals/commanders are all the same quality and cost no extra points (every army is assumed to have one).
