Terrain sizes in 15mm

I was wondering what size terrain people generally used when playing a 300 point 15mm game. On a 90cm by 120cm table, with 2-6 terrain pieces avaiable at up to 25cm across it seems possible to fill most of the available table with a single terrain type.

As I understand it there is no requirement ot have any gap between pieces or any limitation on the number of each type of terrain (other than rivers and BUA's). So the Gauls could lay down a complete forrect if they wished!

Have I got this right, and what do people usually use?

There is a restriction on the number of terrain pieces of certain types explained in Advanced Impetus. If you play a historical game for example, then if you both agree, you can choose any terrain without limit.

You are correct about no gaps between terrain pieces.

I tend to use whatever terrain suits the army I am using. Sizes vary.
