Small format
I talked to another S&R player after reading the rules and we had both the same question: why can't you mix unit types in the small format? I guess you're supposed to play the leader of a small unit in this format, but as troops are more specialized in L&S, this doesn't sound as fun as in Smooth & Rifled. Would it be too unbalancing or complicated to field a knight, a small retinue of longbowmen and, let's say, 2-3 billmen to protect them?

Re: Small format
well, you can do it. I was in doubt till the last to allow this. I wanted to avoid some strange combination, but of both player agree I don't see a problem.
Anyway the medium format is not that bigger than the smaller and gives more flexibility.

Re: Small format
Thanks for the reply. I plan to move to medium format as soon as I can, but starting with the small format looks like a nice way to motivate myself to paint.
