Hi Ross & all,

I had a great time.... 4 great games even if not all of them went as I would have wanted.

On the whole I think the rule changes really worked.

It is important to remember the +1 dice for being of a higher quality in melee (easily forgotten isn't it Ross!) and the flank support rule does make ordered ranks more important. it looks like the removal of the 2 x dice for warbands V foot is a disadvantage but in fact it does make them tougher when in battle lines when facing cavalry as well as foot.

The skirmisher testing to evade rule is a good idea as it will put the 'machine gun' attacks from groups of Horse Archers /javelin men as now a little more vulnerable.

I will be trying them out wider at the club.

Talking round the group seemed to suggest that my 'paired army' games is a popular thought.

I'll expand on it in the separate string.

Just to say well done Ross for organising the event. I Thought it was a great day and everyone played with a really good, friendly spirit.

Just to add my thanks to Ross for arranging and running the event. 4 games in a day went well, I thought.

The 90 points bye to the lowest ranked also worked well, to deal with the problem of an odd number of players. 90 points is a reasonable win, so it had the effect of moving those near the bottom up the table. That seems fair for missing a game.

Thanks everyone for a great yesterday and the kind comments. We usually have a "Classic" tournament later in the year where we try out some ideas and I will post something on this as soon as we have news.
