A collective project
Hello,
had this idea to share: a book (or more than one if it works) with scenarios for Impetus (and, why not, in the future also for Baroque).
The idea is that everybody can propose (and wort at) a scenario with all scenarios to have the same standard (quick historical background, special rules, order of battle), so at the end the book will have various authors. Maybe we could start with just ancients scenarios and the second book can be medieval scenarios.
Books then would be published both printed and digital and those who have contributed with a scenario will get their copy for free of course.
If you like the idea we can start with the brainstorming.

We have quite a few scenarios army lists deployment terrain etc mainly in the classical period. It's mainly my colleagues who have done them could discuss with them to see what they could put together.

Re: A collective project
I would like to help with ancient scenarios.
One question that always arises with scenarios is whether the scenarios should focus on historical accuracy rather than on being balanced? I think historical accuracy should be emphasized, with possible optional rules for balancing the scenario should it end up being one-sided. What do you think?

@kenntak
well, I think a scenario should give the chance to be won by both sizes. So if historically unbalanced there should be some victory conditions that give chances to the looser side to compete and "win".
This suggests me that every scenario should have at the end a paragraph with the author's philosophy and suggestions.

@ejc
Let me think about the format so that it is common for every contributor.

We also have a lot of historical scenarios prepared by one of our group. We use them in demonstration games and for large multi-player games. Tartty can be a good source for information.

Re: A collective project
Hello,
We also played a few historical scenarios this year in our club in Lyon: Sentinum (295 B.C., Romans vs. Samnites and Gauls); Telamon (225 B.C., Romans vs Gauls), Ceasar's landing in Britain (55 B.C., Romans vs. Britons).
Our scenarios usually consisted in rather balanced points between the armies, and particular deployment and special rules to recreate particular conditions or events (the consul's devotio at Sentinum, the Gauls in the middle of two Roman armies at Telamon etc.).
We would be happy to share them as part of this collective booklet project!

Re: A collective project
great!
Any other prosal is welcome. Maybe not all the scenarios should have the same standard, some could be a small affair, other suitable for multiplayer games etc.
You can write me at lorenzosartori67(AT)gmail(DOT)com so we can start to work on this project
