Babylonian list
Hi
I'm slowly re-basing my Assyrian army and was wondering if there was a late Babylonian list floating about for full impetus (2) anywhere?
cheers

Re: Babylonian list
No, nothing satisfactory that I'm aware of. The beta lists for ANE armies were truly awful and there was a lot of disagreement on how to represent the common mixed spear & bow units across Assyria, Babylon and Persia with major differences between the lists.
My Assyrians and Babylonians have been on basing hold since Impetus was published. I truly hope that we get proper, well constructed ANE lists with Impetus II but I can't believe it will be a high priority sadly.

Oh dear
Why do you say they were truly awful? Are they not very historical/not competitive or something along those lines?

Re: Babylonian list
Not very accurate, early attempts and with no rigour applied. Look like redraftys of teh DBM lists (not that that's necessarily a bad starting place) Different lists had the same troops represented in different ways. Just a mess and they never received any input or update - no Extra for the period either.
ANE is the unloved period for Impetus
No idea how the lists played as they weren't worth using as a model and I wasn't rebasing until the question of how to represent mixed bow and spear units was resolved. Are they T, are they FP or FL with bow support, are they FP with range, are they separate spear and bow elements or are they something else. Regardless they sort of need to be the same across the lists!

Re: Babylonian list
I have been playing a Middle Assyrian Army for the past 3 or 4 years. I used Foundry Assyrian Babylonian Auxiliaries and Mitani models as my basis. Looks great. I love the Beta List for them and I found them reasonably competitive. I think they have been demoted in Impetus 2 but we will see.
There is a lack of consistency among the lists for sure. Bronze Age and early Iron Age armies are certainly not well represented by the lists. I would advise holding off basing up your Assyrian army until the Impetus 2 lists come out. I expect that I will be rebasing my Middle Assyrians even if I like how the army is represented on the current Beta list.

Re: Babylonian list
When you say re-basing, would I be right in thinking this would mainly effect the infantry (spear/bow combos)? So I'd be pretty save basing up my heavy chariots, CL and maybe CM of a late list?
Re: Babylonian list
please propose your list and I will promote to a beta as soon as possible!

Re: Babylonian list
Sorry that will have to be someone other than me as I'm pretty new to these rules.

Well I hope I don't have to rebase my Middle Assyrians. They are a rather interesting and unique list in the Impetus world. But yes, your mounted units are probably safe. It is the infantry that I think is bit up in the air for the moment.
