Pilum/PBW in Impetus 2

I don't want to get too far ahead of other players who haven't yet received their copy of Impetus 2 but I have one question regarding Pilum/PBW.

The rules have increased the effectiveness of the these weapons to +2/+4 and +3/+3 but I can't see anything in Impetus 2 where it states when Pilum/PBW is lost. Maybe I have missed that. Appreciate any assistance.

Think Pilum/PBW are reduced to 1 dice after the first contact until they're 'Worn'.

I think you are right Tarty but interestingly one can only get this from the supplement on EI lists and Impetus 2. And even there the wording is a little less clear than I would like. With that said I am hoping you are correct in your understanding.

why is everybody so keen for the Legianarii to loose their pilum after one melee after all only about the 1st 2 or 3 ranks could throw them in the initial close to contact?
surely of a body of say 1000 men they would still have plenty still able to throw their pilum in other contacts?

the pilum is lost after the fisrt contact but a +1 in melee is kept until the Unit is exausted (and not worn as wrongly reported in the English version))

I really like the new Pilum rules.
