Help/ input on connection problems wanted
Anyone in the Forum who has some deeper knowledge of the Windows 10 networkstack especially concerning wifi? I'm experiencing strange connectivity issues on an irregular but then quite often base. From what I have seen so far it looks like a problem with the ARP protocol (Problem resides definitly below network layer 4 and most presumably below layer 3) but could also be some fancy energysetting of the antennas or something similar.
Help or at least input would be appreciated.

I'm afraid I didn't even understand the question
So far I have avoided windows 10, with rural broadband I want a computer I can use, not one that sits perpetually updating

no worries, you need knowledge that usually only have network engineers and electronic programmers. But in hobbyforums you meet all kinds of guys and professions so I thought it wont hurt to give a tryJim Webster wrote:I'm afraid I didn't even understand the question

I can totally understand that, just if the upgrade frequency of W10 is to high for you, avoid Android devices at all costs - their upgrade frequency is comparable to a machine gun

Re: Help/ input on connection problems wanted
I have a 'smart phone' which apparently runs android. But it lives 95% of the time switched off. It's on a pay as you go deal because I live out of signal so much of the time.
Not only that but being pay as you go, I don't download data and have never connected it to wifi,
My budget for my phone is £20 a year maximum

Re: Help/ input on connection problems wanted
I have deactivaed automatic updates on my Android because I'm fed up that each app updates at least 3 times a week just because the developer changed the shape of the buttons from square to circular and then back to square again. I updated manually a week ago and meanwhile there are 23 new updates in the queue...

Re: Help/ input on connection problems wanted
but as that's free and the updates barely impact on performance why is this an issue?
Any ap that you want to dictate update times to can be deselected from auto update and put on 'ask for permission' if performance is an issue.
Given you can't tell what the update is until after its updated, seems odd to prevent them, maybe that's just me.
