Basic Impetus 2 Comp, January 2018?

Hi all
Thanks for the kind comments and support. My dad is pretty elderly too and there could be some tough decision to make over the weekend so looking unlikely I can make it.
Very disappointed to miss the event. I have been looking forward to it for ages and been making a collection of videos about the build up, practise games and army choices. I will try to start posting these next week on my youtube channel and will put a link up for people to see. If someone could send me some pics from the event and some details on how armies did and who won etc it would be appreciated and let me make a wrap up video.

Thank you Tony for organising an enjoyable day at a very good and convenient venue. I think all went very smoothly, and we seemed to get through the day without any delays or significant rules questions.

Thank you next to Tony (again), Jez, Peter and Matt for my four games. Gareth, I’m sorry we didn’t get to face each other. Maybe next time. There needs to be a next time.

Fast and Furious would sum up my impression of the days play at Evesham. There were no drawn or tied games, all games completed in the 90 minutes for each round, many completed in about 60 minutes.

My thanks to all the players for their sporting play, there were no rules issues during games that caused any problems. I hope you all enjoyed the day.

So, drum roll;

First Place, Roger (Sui Dynasty) with a perfect 4 victories, 60 points.
Second, Jez (Early Ostrogoths) with 3 victories and 52 points.
Third, Matt (Ancient Britons) with 2 victories and 43 points.
Forth, Tony (Late Samurai) with 1 victory and 33 points.
Fifth, Peter (Sargonid Assyrians) 1 victory and 31 points.
Sixth, Gareth (Seljuk) 1 victory and 23 points.

Our thanks also to our hosts Chris and Paul at Big Orbit Games for the use of their facilities.

We will definitely run this again (maybe with some cannon to deal with those Chinese large units!)

Thanks for a great day guys, and to Tony for the organisation. Certainly was fast & furious. Liked the scoring system - it felt like we were all in with a shout going into round 3 ( at least until Jez 's Ostrogoths charged home). All played in a generous spirit which is lacking in some competitions.

Picture of the nasty Chinese v Goths. My cavalry about to get cut up!

You can see the Chinese have 7 units here playing the Goth 9. Ultimately the two double deep Chinese with Long spear and supporting T shooters just cut through Goth cavalry who made a brave but ultimately futile charge. The Goth Huns beat the Chinese light cavalry but by then it was really all over. Out of shot on the other flank are more Chinese light cav and CP being faced off but a single Goth CL scout unit.

Ross thanks my other pictures did not really come out - taken on a mobile phone and not quite got the technique to best photo capture impetus games. I liked your site but not sure I want to relive my defeats in a 20 minute U tube video format .....

LOL - you had me beaten all ends up last year Jez!! I lost my pictures from last year unfortunately but you do get a mention in the Samurai game I am posting today and how you kicked my arse last time I came up against them.
Also giving away all my tactics so you can hand it to me again next time - hope you can make Roger's tournament if he puts one on again
