ZoC restrictions - a possible alternative?
Hi all,
This follows on from an earlier post on the topic of ZoCs and their effect on the game. After a few games of BI2 now I thought of turning the situation on its head a bit, rather than the unit in the ZoC having to worry about what it does perhaps give the unit exerting it the chance to react in certain circumstances? It involves a test rather like defensive fire. This is my first thought on the wording:
" if an active unit is in a ZoC and wheels, goes sideways, obliques or moves forwards on a trajectory that won't contact the unit exerting the ZoC then that unit can try and react any time the enemy is in its ZoC by shooting or charging. Test on 4+ to pass
+1 General with unit
+1 T, CL or S shooting
+1 CP1 / 2 or Impetuous charging
'1' always fails
If the test is passed the unit reacts appropriately immediately. If shot at the active unit may then continue its move."
This means units in a ZoC can do things like turning to face but may provoke a nasty reaction doing so
Cheers
