Number of Commands?
Hi
I was not sure which heading to put this under but here goes....
I have bee playing Impetus for about 2 years now using 15mm figures and generally with armies around the 350 to 400 point range. I have had some really excellent games one of which was my Late Republican Romans going down last night to overwhelming numbers of Caledonians, there were literally thousands of the bu.... but anyway that's another story.
One thing I'm struggling with is the advantages v disadvantages of splitting an army into one or more commands. The thing is I can see very little advantage in having more than one command and plenty of disadvantages. It just feels that I might be missing something in the rules or is it just me or simply that with the number of points I am using it does not warrant having more than one command? Are there advantages to having more than one command that I'm missing? I am talking about non competition games.
Grateful for any thoughts.
Cheers Paul

Re: Number of Commands?
Depends on the army command structure & how maneuverable you needs to be. Roman legions can get by with a single commander. Warband armies need as many poor commanders as possible leading C class warbands to help them pass tests. Cavalry armies need more commanders to try & outflank the enemy or dash for his camp.
