Terrain Placement
Something came up in our last game I wouldn't mind getting cleared up once and for all
We were using the 300/350pts 28mm guidelines for terrain placement (Advanced Impetus page 2)
"The Defender places from 1 to 3 items, maximum 1 of
them (even partially) inside the deployment area of one of the players."
In our case the defender deployed 3x terrain pieces one in his deployment area (difficult ground ) the attacker decided to move a piece (steep hill) and also place it in the defenders deployment zone.
Question is - Should the maximum of '1 terrain piece in deployment areas' also be restricted to the attacker when the option to move a terrain piece is taken ?

Re: Terrain Placement
I asked this question once before at;
http://impetus.ativiforum.com/t573-terrain-placement
The answer was a little ambiguous, but leaned toward the intent that the attacker was bound by the same restrictions. It was then pointed out that a road could be used to limit options even further. Perhaps a road could be considered a special case, a "non-limiting" item?

Re: Terrain Placement
Thanks Aurelius thought we had gone over this before.
Roads being introduced as a "non -limiting" choice was mentioned by Lorenzo in this thread btw..

So yes attackers are limited by the same restrictions as the defender e.g. the majority of terrain choices cannot be in or touching either deployment zones

Re: Terrain Placement
this is waht was intended, but terrain placemente for competitions comes from experience, so if you feel that something could be improved, any idea is welcome.
As mentioned once my plans are to extend the system designed for Baroque to Impetus. Maybe some adjustement coulc be necessary so I would be happy to include this system in Advanced Impetus for additional tests

Re: Terrain Placement
Just trying to get a clearer reading under what we already have for the moment
But yes great Lorenzo rolling over the Baroque terrain placement into AI we can all test it out....nice idea.
Well that gets my 1 vote anyway
