Parallel Lines 7.7.7 and Groups

The Contact between non-parallel lines diagram on page 47 of the PDF manual depicts one group charging another group. The units of the charging group have to be skewed a little to make full contact with the defending group.

Does this need to skew the units of the attacking group destroy the group itself, because the units no longer have the same front line (see the examples for Groups on page 10)? If so, how much skewing of units would destroy the group? Groups often do contact other groups without a slight angle of contact.

The Group in 7.7.7 related diagram is broken in the bottom example at the end of movement. Any skewing of the type in the above example ends the Group. The conditions necessary for being a Group are quite strict. This can develop also through the various retreats and pursuits resulting from melee.

The melee outcomes will also probably end the group even if it is perfectly aligned when contacting the enemy.
