The formula for constructing a BI2 Army List

Looking at the Armies of the Crusades page 36 and 37 I notice when I total the VBU, Imp, Vd values of the base army to get a relative power comparison for any 2 armies I notice this difference between the weakest army and the most powerful.

Early Crusader 1095 - 1110. 46 14 22
Seljuk Turk. 1037 - 1194. 34 10 15

I only noticed this because I have Komnenan, Crusader and Seljuk Armies. Now these armies fought at Dorylaeum and the Crusades won.

Does the fact that the Turk's have 8 missile units versus 3 Crusader missile units make up for this shortfall?

Is the Army list formula published anywhere?

My best guess is that the armies are generally between 180 and 200 points in "old money", assuming all units are B class. In your example above the Seljuks are something like 184 points, but if you choose option 1 it's more like 194, so some options are better than others. It's probably best not to overthink it (advice I'm incapable of following myself )
