Loss of Depth Bonus
Red A is a unit of FP and Blue B is a large unit of Warband.
A moves in on the side of B but it's not a charge on the flank of B correct ?
B still gets it's Depth Bonus as it's a frontal attack ?
This is covered in 7.2.2 'Side Charge' but the 'Depth Bonus' part isn't mentioned. I'm guessing it's because it comes down to being defined as a 'Frontal Charge' ??

Re: Loss of Depth Bonus
As you say this is a side attack so treated as frontal attack we would give depth bonus. The next section in rules flank attack would disorder and deny B depth bonus. That said think B getting away lightly and hard to see if hit half way down side how it would be able to get the benefit of the front half of unit. We did talk about having a house rule to deny depth bonus if side attack but in the end we didn't do so.eric

Re: Loss of Depth Bonus
I agree, has to be a 'frontal attack'.... with all that goes with it.
I suppose 'A' could wrangle a flank attack if it used two moves to go in e.g First move to get completely behind targets frontal line, second move to charge in the last segment to contact. This does seem a little gamey but perfectly legal I guess ?

Re: Loss of Depth Bonus
I know it would look a bit gamey on table but to me fair and reasonable. Think any unit with opportunity to attack a flank would manoeuvre to do so, from our experience normally takes 3/4 moves especially for large unit that would have to wheel to get rear unit behind the front projection of B. Re: Loss of Depth Bonus
it is a frontal attack so B has support.
Taking on the flank or rear is not easy, it takes time to outmanouvre the enemy.
