questions about moving wheeling and charging.
I feel like I don't have all of this down yet.
Imagine 3 units. X,Y and Z. Z is the opposition. Z is in contact with X, and Y is on X's flank. Maybe like this
ZZZZ
XXXXYYYY
(EDIT: the formatting didn't hold very well, so just for clarification, Z is shifted slightly over, so it is not touching Y in any way)
If I want Y to be in combat with Z as a support to X (or main depending on situation), Y would have to wheel for it's first movement, then Charge for a second movement. It would have to make a discipline check for the second movement. Failure means it would be in contact with Z but disordered.
Do I have that correct?
If Z and X were flush, such that Y is touching Z corner to corner.. does this change anything?

I just noticed I didn't put this in the Impetus 2 rules channel, which I probably should have.

Re: questions about moving wheeling and charging.
It sounds like you do have it down.
Y would need to wheel and then move into contact on Z's flank. In most cases this will take two moves. Mounted units (except Chariots, Elephants and Wagenburgs) may wheel and move as their final move in the activation so could manage contact in one move.
Y touching Z's corner does not qualify as contact.

One other point to consider is that exact alignment between opposing units is not permitted. If it does occur then paragraph 7.7.7 requires a 1d6 to shift the line right or left.

Thanks for the responses you two. I had indeed overlooked 7.7.7
