Impetus Warbook 1 and Hostile Ground

Here what I am working at: Impetus Warbook 1, the first army lists book for Impetus 2 (that will cover from biblicat to the end of Roman Republic) and Hostile Ground, a simple and fast set for solo wargames for the modern period.

Impetus Warbook 1 will be released by June, as a printed book. 




Hostile Ground in around 10 days, as a pdf on Wargames Vault.

Can't wait for the new Impetus lists!

What is new in the army lists, please? I already have all the original army list books - what is different? or is this just a rehash with movement rates changed?

The new lists are a different publication. They will be 4 books (spiral bound like the rulebook) and will include only lists (not campaigns etc) in chronological order. Book 1 ranges from biblical to end of Roman Republic. 97 lists.

Lists have been revised, some new criteria have been added (for example the rear rank of a Large Unit cannot be with VBU greater than 4).
All points have been changed, not great difference, but not the same as before.
And of course there will be more lists when all books will be out as with Impetus 1 many lists were betas or simply not yet developped.

Warbook 1: So, no Wargames Vault PDF?

PDF downloads for the Warbook would be really appreciated. Getting them printed can be a hassle, but the immediacy of getting them is most important when you are on the other side of the known world. :-)

This is Lorenzo's reply from the Impetus Facebook page:

"the book is about finished, last details like photo credits and last proofreafing or some final choices on few lists to decide. Due to the period and the consequence of lockdown, I decided to take more time to check it (and start working at the Italian version) and release it by early september. By July I will start the pre-order."

I am a bit surprised by Lorenzo's communication around this and around Impetus 2 generally. Best set of ancient rules available but no big announcements.

Any news yet?
payment was taken on theb7th. Was hoping we might have something by the end of September.

An update would be appreciated.

I jave started to ship the books monday.
All pre-orders received on the 7th September have been processed.
Today I have started to ship orders received on the 8th and I plan to ship all pre-orders before the end of the week. Then I will contact the photo contributors to ship their free copy.
