Flodden Lists

Afternoon chaps..

Have spent the best part of 7 months painting a massive 10mm Scottish Common Army for a series of Flodden games - historical and revisionist... I am about to start work on the English - just wondered if anyone had a decent Impetus list... when I first started the project I couldn't find anything that would give me the required weight on table.. thought it would be worth asking again before I commit to the next several months of painting...

Hi Mr. Woo - a late relpy, but I only just joined....
The Impetus Scottish lists that I've seen are dreadful, but for Flodden you want loads (and I do mean loads) of Pikes, a serious load of artillery and a marginal quantity of handguns and longbows. For the English you want lots of Bills, quite a lot of longbows and that's really about it. All of your troops should have some level of protection and a pretty high proportion of both sides should be well-armoured by that standard of the day.

But the Scots artillery should be pretty immobile and the pikes aren't Swiss, so should be 'ordinary' with the option of upgrading the front ranks by +1 VBU to account for a thin crust of dismounted nobility
