Impetus 2 Evasion and Disengagement
Hi
A couple of quick questions on Evasion and Disengagement:
Evasion:
A unit of CM declares a charge on a unit of CL. At the point the charge is declared (and before any movement takes place) the unit of CM is not within the ‘front projection’ of the unit of CL (i.e. it is not within the corridor created by the continuation of the short sides of the base). However during the actual move the unit of CM does enter the front projection of the CL. Can the unit of CL evade? See 5.12 Evasion.
Disengagement:
Although the rules clearly state that a unit wishing to disengage must, “pass a discipline test with no modifiers (even if in Disorder)”, does a unit with a general attached count the modifiers for the general? See 5.13 Disengagement.
Hope all of that makes sense, thanks for any help.
Cheers Paul

Re: Impetus 2 Evasion and Disengagement
Evasion.
Good question. Under the old rules the answer would be yes. But the phrasing in Impetus 2 in 5.12 is a bit different. It depends on what "position" means in the sentence. If you look at the picture in 5.12 you will see that the answer is found there. The unit in your example can evade.
This brings us to a bigger question. What does one do when a picture gives a different answer to the rule than printed version.

Just a stab in the dark - but maybe ask politely for clarification?
