Measuring sticks
Hi
I am getting back into 15mm ancients after getting a copy of Basic Impetus 2, but I could really do with a set of the metal "measuring stick" things marked off in 40mm sections. Does anyone know of the best place to get them ? I would prefer the set of sticks rather than the fiddly screw together versions. Any help would be great
Thanks
Phil

Re: Measuring sticks
I printed off the measuring template and glued it to some balsa wood ( mdf just as good) works like a charm.
Cheaper then metal.

If you are after metal then these are worth a look; http://www.productsforwargamers.com/screw_measuring_sticks.html They have them in various sizes including 40mm. I have the 30mm for Baroque 28mm sacle and they are great.

Re: Measuring sticks
Warbases.co.uk have measuring sticks, wheeling and ZoC templates for 15mm and 28mm made from MDF and acryl.

Sadly not quite true - they have wheeling, ZOC and fire arc templates in both 15mm and 28mm but the measuring sticks are only 28mm. I'm sure they'd do 15mm ones but they aren't shown in the shop. Always seemed an odd oversight to me.
That said sticks are extremely easy to knock up at home - I have several sets. All you need is some modelling wood (balsa or bass strips) and a sharpie.
Re: Measuring sticks
Oh - didn't notice that the measuring sticks were 28mm only o.O
I still stick to my old school measuring tape - especially to my praised ancient treasure one that I got with a lot of efford from England when wargames were something rarely heard of here and therefore no shop sold measuring tapes with inches...
(those days we had to use selfmade measuring sticks with inches )

Re: Measuring sticks
The stick for BI2 will be useful also for Impetus 2. The main difference will be the shooting ranges will be 4H and 8H (while in BI2 are 3H and 6H)
