French in Egypt 1798-1801
Dragoons 1xCM VBU=6, I=2, VD=3
Chasseurs or Hussars 1xCL VBU=4, I=2, VD=2
Veteran Foot 2xFT VBU=6, I=2, VD=3, Musket C, Veteran
Trained Foot 3xFT VBU=5, I=2, VD=2, Musket C
Skirmishers (Voultigiers…) 2xS VBU=2, I=0, VD=1, Musket B
Artillery 1xArt VBU=1, I=0, VD=1, Art A
Horse Artillery 1xArt VBU=1, I=0, VD=1, Art B

1st option:  1798-99 Dismount Dragoons due to lack of horses, replace with:
Dragoons 1xDR VBU=5, I=1 VD=2  musket C
Dragoon Inf 1xS VBU=2, I=0, VD=1, Musket C
2nd Option:  break Leger Bn into skirmishers, replace 1 trained Foot with:
Skirmishers (Voultigiers…) 2xS VBU=2, I=0, VD=1, Musket B
3rd Option: 1800-1801, no more reinforcements from France
Replace 1 Vet foot with:  Local Levy Foot 2xFT VBU=5, I=1, VD=2, Musket C, Green
4th option: change 1 Levy Foot for 3 Initiative re-rolls
5th Option: replace 1 Trained Foot with Camel Corps
Camel Corps  1xCL VBU=3 I=0 VD=2
dismount as  1xFT VBU=4, I=1 VD=2  musket C
6th Option, after Navy lost at Aboukir Bay  replace 1 Vet Inf with:
Naval Legion 1xFT VBU=5, I=1, VD=2, Musket C
Artillery 1xArt VBU=1, I=0, VD=1, Art A

Mamelukes
Mamelukes  3xCL VBU=6, I=3, VD=3, PBW, elite
Other Egyptian, Bedoin or Turkish Horse 2xCL VBU=3 I=2 VD=1 carbine B
Cairo Janissaries 2xFT VBU=5, I=2, VD=2 Musket C
Fellaheen 6 x FT VBU=4 I=1 VD=1 Various Weapons, green
Artillery 1xArt VBU=1, I=0 VD=1 Art A
Albanians  2xS VBU=2, I=0, VD=1, Musket B
Fellaheen can form large units

Option 1:  Replace 1 Mameluke with:
Artillery 1xArt VBU=1, I=0 VD=1 Art A
Cairo Janissaries 2xFT VBU=5, I=2, VD=2 Musket C
Option 2:  replace 1 Levy with 2 initiative rerolls
Option 3: replace 1 levy with 1 Albanian
Albanian  1xS VBU=2, I=0, VD=1, Musket B

PBW probably best reflects the Mameluke practice of firing and discarding carbines, multiple pistols and javelins in the charge.

Mameluke Ace in the Hole:  Nile Gun Boats. Pick one table short side edge.  From that side of the table the Mameluke player can fire as a single  Art B measuring from the table edge.

Ottoman Turks & British to follow

play tested this today.  Fellaheen at VBU 3 and green are just too horrible, just melted away when shot at.  Increasing VBU to 4 with the green penalty.  Elite Mamelukes are scary, rode down everything in their way.  I guess I'll be using square formation next time.
