2nd Option: break Leger Bn into skirmishers, replace 1 trained Foot with:

3rd Option: 1800-1801, no more reinforcements from France
Replace 1 Vet foot with: Local Levy Foot 2xFT VBU=5, I=1, VD=2, Musket C, Green
4th option: change 1 Levy Foot for 3 Initiative re-rolls
5th Option: replace 1 Trained Foot with Camel Corps
Camel Corps 1xCL VBU=3 I=0 VD=2
dismount as 1xFT VBU=4, I=1 VD=2 musket C
6th Option, after Navy lost at Aboukir Bay replace 1 Vet Inf with:

Option 1: Replace 1 Mameluke with:

Option 2: replace 1 Levy with 2 initiative rerolls
Option 3: replace 1 levy with 1 Albanian

PBW probably best reflects the Mameluke practice of firing and discarding carbines, multiple pistols and javelins in the charge.
Mameluke Ace in the Hole: Nile Gun Boats. Pick one table short side edge. From that side of the table the Mameluke player can fire as a single Art B measuring from the table edge.

play tested this today. Fellaheen at VBU 3 and green are just too horrible, just melted away when shot at. Increasing VBU to 4 with the green penalty. Elite Mamelukes are scary, rode down everything in their way. I guess I'll be using square formation next time.
