Clarification sought on 2 dice Scorpio rule
In a recent game the Roman player deployed a Scorpio unit. I advised him of the new rule and that this meant all his legions had a 2VBU missile capability. As we played this seemed pretty deadly and he asked if it was just 2 dice, not 2 VBU with associated range/target modifiers (at times he was shooting with 4 or 5 dice per legion). As I had never read about a dice value as compared with a VBU value I took the latter position. Was I right?

Scorpio shoot with two dice between 5-30U.
Very good value for 15 points.
You dont get the scorpio unit then though - just the scorpio ability for all roman Legionary FP

And can they fire when moving or after moving. Ie move then fire, then move ?
Came up last night in a game, we played that they can only fire if that is the only action for that turn. Ie no moving and firing, or firing then moving in the case of a reaction.

Thanks Andrew, but if it is two dice, does that mean there are no modifiers? So firing at S or CL is no different to firing on any other troop type?
The Scorpio can't fire react as it can't fire under 5U so it doesn't have the issue of firing and then moving (but then if it is placed on opportunity... Not sure how that works.)

No modifiers - and no moving and firing.
An FP unit with scorpio ability could be placed on opportunity and fire as per normal.

Re: Clarification sought on 2 dice Scorpio rule
I've just done the maths. There is 33% chance of a hit with two dice. Nice!
