GERMANICOPHOBIA Empty GERMANICOPHOBIA

Post by AncientWarrior Wed Jul 30, 2014 6:39 pm

Gentlemen -

Courtesy of the administrator over at Lone Warrior Blog, my ancient battle report using - you guessed it - a whole lot of Germans, has been posted.

I used IMPETVS and played the game solo.

Here's hoping the provided link works and that readers enjoy the time spent reading the submission.

Thanks again for your time. Appreciation in advance to those who post a comment.

Chris

That is a large battle to play though solo, how long did it take you? I also like how you use card 'units' as it has taken me 6 months to paint 200 points of 28mm Gaul's, that is quite a time (and money) saving idea.
Also, given the size of the battle how easy are the rules to play solo?

Merlinus,

Yes, yes, I admit it was rather grandiose in terms of size. I guess I was just interested in seeing if it could be done. Difficult to say exactly about the time involved. I would complete a turn here and a turn there. Sometimes, I would stop in mid turn for a day or three.
You are to be lauded for investing the time and treasure to paint up those Gauls. I guess I just don't have the patience. I definitely don't have the pennies! (FYI - I am starting a WotR battle using Hail Caesar. It took just a few days to draft the OBs and prepare the armies.)

I confess to struggling a bit with IMPETVS . . . rolling for command initiatives in multiple command games can be confusing with everyone activating and such. Then there are all the pluses and minuses to recall. Even with the QRS and advanced rules, it's still a bit of a process.

Methinks I need to rein in the size a bit.

Thanks for taking the time to read and to reply or at leas ask questions.

Hah! I'm averaging 1 reply for every 40 readers. Woo-hoo!
