First 3 games with Ptolemaics
As I have just got myself a 15mm Ptolemaic army (most of it already painted), I was eager to try it on the table. All games below at 300pts.
First oponent to accept the challenge was na Athenian Greek.
Links (in portuguese) with a small english summary below.
Anyway the battle can be summed up as a “the phalanx rolled over everything on its path”.

Not satisfied, the Athenians came for a second round.
Their cavalry managed to get hit head on by two elephants with predictable results… The horsemen claiming the nellies were driving on the wrong lane! The phalanx made a desperate fight, slowly giving ground to the hoplites but gaining enough time to allow the encirclement of the greek battleline

And moving forward in time, a third game between Later Ptolemaic and Marian Romans – Cleopatra and Caesar.
The egyptians hoping to burst through the roman center and leaving a left flank with next to nothing.
The roman cavalry immediately moved to capitalize. But so carelessly that they got a surprise from some syrians with the entire cavalry command thrown in confusion and beaten! Other fights in the broken terrain also went in favour of the ptolemaics.
Finally the heavies clashed, with the egyptian legionaries losing to “the true ones”. At least the phalanx fought the enemy to a standstill with chances of winning by attrition.
But everywhere else rome loses. And casualties are enough for the army to break.
Cleopatra gains some time… but we all know how it ends. Rome never loses!
