Large Unit Losses Empty Large Unit Losses

When the rear of a large unit is routed are any carry over losses taken to the front unit or are they just "lost"?

I believe you take carry over losses on the remainder of the unit. The point being it's one large unit...that after losses reduces to a normal sized unit so there is no rout of a rear unit just losses until it all routs.

As bobm says, any carry over are applied to the front unit (or second rank in a 3 deep pike unit).
