Late Roman Long Thrusting Spear any evidence?
I'm new to these rule so I don't know if this has been discussed before!
Were not Late Roman Legionarius using a combination the Spiculum heavy throwing spear and Verutum lighter throwing spear some times accompanied by Plumbata.
What evidence is there for long thrusting spears?
I believe the late Roman Logionarius and Auxilia were still foremost first class swordsman just as the early Legion and Auxilia were.
I thought the it was known from archaeological evidence of the Spiculum heavy throwing spear, Verutum lighter throwing spear, Plumbata and the spatha sword in use by the Late Roman troops?

You can see the sword becoming more and more important among Germanic tribes during this period, mainly a copy of the Roman long bladed spatha sword and they are copying Roman tactics with a shower of javelins, throwing axes or angon heavy throwing spear just before closing to contact.
I would be interested in comments.
