Rallying in Melee

Hi

In today's game we had a situation where a disordered unit was in an ongoing melee and was chosen for activation. The first rally roll failed but the player then wanted to force rally the unit. However, forced rally states the unit cannot be activated which would have meant there would be no combat round for that unit in his turn. We thought this situation shouldn't happen and that no forced rally was possible and the combat round would happen with that unit still disordered. We all accepted that this should be the case but that doesn't mean we got it right. Help anyone?

The Rules wrote:

A Unit cannot Rally if it is engaged in a melee

that should sort it
