Deployment Area and table size

Why was the deployment area in Baroque not measured from the table center line like impetus?  This was the best method for dealing with varying table depths & figure scales.  With a fixed 4 BU deployment  increasing the depth, but not the deployment area  mostly hurts artillery range and infantry move/fire as the center "no mans land" gets larger and larger.

For 25mm, because that is what I am interested in.   It seems the intent was for inf & med artillery to out of range at game start so I tried to adjust to keep that distance ratio.


on a "normal" 120 x 180mm  (4x6')  table each deployment area is 4 BU & the center area 5.3 BU

150mm (5') deep  gives us a center area of 8.6 BU.  I suggest the deployment area be increased to 5.5 BU to leave the center a reasonable 5.6 BU

180mm deep (6') gives us a whopping 12 BU center.  I'd increase each army deployment to 7 BU, leaving a center of 6 BU.
