Impetus Bonus in Continuing Melees?

When a melee results in a draw with neither combatant retreating, melee carries over to the next turn.  In this second turn of melee, does either player maintain an Impetus Bonus or is the second turn of melee fought with no Impetus Bonus for either?

In a continuing melee between the same combatants, may the Active player choose not to activate a unit in contact with enemy and thus avoid carrying out a round of melee?

the impetus bonus is applied whet there is a new contact, so in case of succesful pursuit. In the case the Unit are stationary from the previous turn, no bonus.

The Active Player MUST carry out the melee if the Unit is already in contact with the enemy.
