Lord of the Rings Orc Army

It is finally done. A many years project for the LoTR using Impetus. Still need to play test my Orc list but the figures are at least completed. Used Vendel Orcs because they give a more realistic, gritty look to these troop types (can't stand the cartoonish look that many companies give orcs nor the movie depiction.) The Ogres/Trolls are Ral Partha. The leaders are Reaper.

About 535 pieces in total.

Out of sight is the side is the real leader of this army!

Oh my, that looks amazing! Those old Vendel figures are beautiful. This makes me want to get out all of my old LotR figures and start a project.

Thanks Nikephorous. I agree, the Vendel figures are a pure gem and they are relatively easy to paint.

At some point I am going to build up a Gondor army and eventually redo the Battle of Fornost in the earlier part of the 3rd Age.

Fabulous stuff GC, yes another vote on the figures ... love them.

I'm in the process of building a new house at the moment (....and gaming room) so have my LotR gear (and everything else   ) in storage. My collection is also very 'retro'.
