Armour in BI2
I have noticed that there is no direct consideration for Armour in BI2.
In this period there is
- no armour
- medium/heavy armour
- full plate
I cant see that adjusting VB to reflect the armour gives the right result.
In some cases the armour has little benefit, depending on the weapon etc.
e.g.
base VBU=4 +2 adjustment for armour =6
fired at by artillery - still need to cause 6 losses but should be 4 as armour doesn't help.

Re: Armour in BI2
Hi sorry not quite sure on your question? With Basic Impetus you dont need to make any extra changes for armour as this is built into the VBU - this is a combined value including morale and offensive and defensive value.
I think highest VBU available is 8 for renaissance gendarmes.
Cheers Jez

I don't think VBU is the right model. Baroque has armour (Cuirass) which reduces the potential impact of shooting (reduces dice). Was hoping that a revised Impetus would model armour in a similar way - perhaps having 2 types (heavy and other).

Re: Armour in BI2
in BI2 this is modelled with the difference between CP1 and CP2, where the first is the more "armoured" heavy cavalry. If you shoot at a CP1 you have a modifier.
