The situation below occurred in our test game.
Consider a large unit with a FL front rank and a T rear rank.
How is it to be treated in difficult terrain?
That terrain gives no penalty to FL, but disorders T.
We ended up applying disorder.

I didn't mention that the speed in difficult terrain is also different for those two.
The list - Western Han - doesn't specify. It does however shows the FL as moving 6 instead of the normal 8cm.
Until there is a ruling or clarification, I will be assuming that the worst type prevails.

I'd also use the EI5 Chinese lists as your prototype which makes the large unit T for movement and melee.

Good Idea, checking EI5! Never noticed that in there.
And regarding interpenetration it follows the main rules for large units.
