I think that seems as sensible a way of doing it as any.
From George Gush. Renaissance Armies
"As usual there was a strong train of artillery, which in 1644 had: six Demi-cannon, one Culverin, three Quarter cannon, 54 Demi-culverin, three Iror pieces and 88 "Frames" (these were very light guns for infantry support, the brainchildren of the famous Scots artillerist "Sandy" Hamilton, who had served Gustavus Adolphus. He had invented an ultra-light 12 pounder gun, three feet long, which could be carried by one horse, and also some kind of multi-barrel infantry support weapon on a wheel-barrow-like mounting. The "frames" could well be these, or light field pieces like those used by Gustavus; their number makes it seem likely that about four were attached to each infantry regiment.)."

Re: Scots Covenanters
So in a covenanter army, add in maybe 50% of the foot P&M may take frame guns (regimental guns) for 4 pts ? or even all of them?

Re: Scots Covenanters
I'm not sure how many frame guns the 'second line' Covenanter armies had (for example those that fought against Montrose)
Reading about Montrose's battles you rarely hear of artillery mentioned on either side
So I'd say that the sensible options seem to be none, or issued to all regular regiments, (so newly raised and militia wouldn't have them) .
I'm not sure how long they lasted, I've found no mention of them at the Battle of Dunbar

Re: Scots Covenanters
That sounds about right. I think we will allow them to all the regular P&S units, it makes the army a bit more interesting and adds a different option compared to the regular English regiments. We are working towards Marston moor. Thanks for the help.
Re: Scots Covenanters
once you have "fixed" this list, please send me the draft so I can check and upload as a beta.
